THE KUKER BANDS WEST OF KARLOVO
The Kuker groups West of Karlovo are from the villages of Dabene, Karavelovo, Kliment, Stoletovo and Voinyagovo. Their costumes are picturesque and almost do not resemble each other.
Both Kuker costume and masquerade custom in the Village of Dabene seem to be really old-time and amongst those undergone least changes.
In thee villages of Voinyagovo and Kliment, there were old-time Kuker traditions, however the today Kuker costumes have undergone some changes during the last several decades.
In the villages of Karavelovo and Stoletovo the custom rose from the dead several years ago; their Kuker costumes are now closer to the one of Kliment Village. The older people in Karavelovo Village still remember the one-time "Dzhamali" ie also masked people but with other masks. The modern Kuker costumes of Karavelovo do now stick with the traditional model.
